Bikram Yoga
She’s 80 pounds overweight, divorced, out of work, and deeply in debt. She needs a physical and spiritual overhaul. Can 60 days in a Bikram hot-yoga studio really undo years of damage?

This is Part 1 of a two part article. Â I will post part 2 when it comes out. Â Bikram really works. Â If you can stick with it you will shed unwanted inches. Â I witnessed this in the Bikram teacher training. Â Many people lost weight and toned up.

So in-between giving a sold-out lecture to more than 400 people at the Edgewater Casino tonight – and judging the Western Canadian Hatha Yoga Championships Sunday – Choudhury says he’ll find time for some retail release.
It’s his “disease,” he chuckled, describing his love of shopping.

This morning my husband and I went to the early class. Boy, I sure noticed a difference from evening to morning. I felt so stiff all over. It was definitely not my best class. It really makes a difference going to yoga when your muscles have already stretched and warmed up throughout the day.

Bow Pose
I decided to go to Bikram tonight with my husband. It was a good class. Not too hot and I was able to really push myself to my edge in all the poses. I noticed the biggest improvement in bow pose. I could really see my feet going high above my head.

Wow, it was hot tonight. Seemed very humid and just plain hot. Luckily, the instructor felt it too and cracked the door open. It’s hard to have your best practice when you feel like you are going to throw up!

Yoga Kitty
Double Yoga day! Two very good classes! This morning I took a great Basics class with my friend.
Later, I went to Bikram with my husband. It went well, until the last few poses, and then the heat got to me. I was just happy to have finished class today.

Good Bikram class today. One thing I noticed today is that my fingernails look very healthy. Not that they were unhealthy before, but they seem to have less ridges now. I think the increased circulation yoga provides, may be helping my nails.

Good class, however, this morning I woke up with a pain in my right shoulder. Some of the poses were a little painful for me, but I did the best I could. Tomorrow I will call the chiropractor.

I did the 7am yoga class this morning. The temperature is definitely better for me at that time. My muscles and joints felt really stiff though. Not my best practice ever, but good way to start the day.
