My shoulders were sore after yesterdays class. Today I needed to do some deep stretching for my tired muscles. No pain no gain right?
Today I woke up and did not want to do yoga. All day, I did not want to go to class. So, in the evening, I did some Yin poses for about an hour. I think I am feeling burnt out. Yikes! A year is a long time! I guess it’s like anything that you do every day….it gets a little boring. Hmmmm tomorrow is a new day.
Today we practiced Yin Yoga. It is a good way to wind down the week and get some deep stretching into those tight spots. I had a surprising experience in child’s pose though. We seemed to hold it too long which is a typical feeling in a Yin Class. However, I have never felt a pain in my knee with this pose. As soon as I felt the pain, I slowly came out of the pose and at about the same time, the instructor had the class change as well. I will have to watch this next time.

Double Pigeon Pose
Today’s Yin class seemed more challenging for me than some in the past. I felt aches in my knees after holding the double pigeon. In fact all my joints felt sore when releasing a pose that involved them. Boy, this teacher really knows how to make a body feel old!
A busy day looking for a new place to live away from the noisy neighbor. Â Really need to start getting some sleep! Â Missed the Power class I wanted to take but it’s OK, I made it to a Deep Stretch class. Today was 3 days in a row of the deep stretch or Yin classes, so I should really notice some improvement!
I had planned on doing the power class today, but my neighbor played her music really loud again and woke me up so I was too tired Saturday morning to do a vigorous class. Maybe doing another Yin class is better to conquer the achy feeling in my legs.
Slow paced Yin was a welcome class this afternoon. It felt good to stretch at a slower pace. Fit my mood. My muscles feel achy after the deep stretching. I wonder if that will ever go away?
This was a good class. Just what I needed after over-indulging at a dinner party the night before.
I woke up with a headache and my stomach was a little queasy.  I drank lots of water throughout the day and tried to rehydrate the best I could.  My body seemed to be telling me a restorative yoga class was in order.  I found a Yin Yoga class which holds each stretching posture for 5-10 minutes.  The instructor said that she has read studies that say you have to hold a pose for 10-20 minutes in order to improve the flexibility of that pose. She had us hold 3 different hip stretches for 5 minutes each, so hopefully I will notice improved flexibility in my hips next time!
Today I led a Yin Yoga class in the nice studio in our condominium complex. Yin is very restorative. It’s a nice balance to the more “Yang” yoga styles like Bikram and Vinyasa. I ended class with our legs up the wall. During this posture I noticed my right ankle tingling again. I am hoping this is a good sign. Possibly more blood flow going to the ankle to loosen it up? I am going to watch this over the next few days.
Yin Yoga class at Yoga in the Pearl. Â This was a good class to start with. Â Slower moving and lots of stretching. Â My body is feeling stiff and lopsided.
