Yin Yoga is relaxing on a Sunday evening. Â It felt good after walking in the 5K Race for the Cure this morning.

This article describes a study that showed yoga decreases anxiety and depression, by increasing the neurotransmitter GABA, by 27%.
The best result of this experiment so far is that I’ve been able to get my husband to go with me occasionally. We had a great class.
Class started out OK, then all of a sudden I felt a sudden, sharp, headache. I guess it could have been the yummy margarita my friend made me last night, or the cognac over the grilled peaches with gelato… we had a fun girls night with fabulous food and friends, and maybe my yoga practice is moving the alcohol out of my system. I took a child’s pose for the next posture and then met up with class in downward dog. Headache disappeared after I did that.
I am starting to feel my muscle yoga memory coming back! Felt good today. Still have a ways to go to be in good yoga shape, but now I feel I’m on my way.
The commitments of the day did not allow me to attend a studio class, however I just completed my home practice. I would call it a Yin Fusion.
I felt I needed to hold some floor poses longer, as with Yin yoga, and really try to release some tightness I have in my hips, calve muscles and ankles.
I am also reflecting on how my body feels after 16 days of yoga. I have noticed that I am sleeping better. That, along with yoga’s known positive effect of increasing one’s circulation, gives me more energy during the day as well. I like this experiment already!
I am not sure if my legs are just tired or a little sore from yesterday, but holding the warrior poses was especially difficult today.
Feeling some sore back and neck muscles today. Used some techniques that I learned in the workshop such as keeping feet flexed.
Felt a few sore muscles from the workshop yesterday.
