Ganga White and Tracey Rich Workshop at Yoga in the Pearl, Portland, OR. Â They discussed how subtle changes in your body positions and keeping the energy flowing can deepen your practice. Â Ganga suggested a version of the seated twist in which you sit on your foot. Â This was interesting and fun to try, since I had never heard or seen that before. Â He also talked about keeping your toes flexed to keep the energy flowing in different standing positions.

Yin is a very gentle yoga with stretching poses held for a long time. Can be so relaxing that one of the guys in the class actually fell asleep!…we could hear him snore.

Tried some new poses using different props. We used chairs and blankets to really deepen stretches and reach places we couldn’t on our own.

Good to get back to basics sometimes! Â I noticed a very good energy in class.
One nice side effect of this experiment is my husband decided to go to class with me!

Good class. I felt bad today because I cut in front of a student in line. He had jeans on and seemed to be hanging back like he just wanted information. I just walked right in front of him to sign in. Then he signed in after me. Oops! Sorry yogi guy.
In class, my hips felt really stiff. I think I need more “pigeon pose”.

This was a warm Vinyasa class. Worked hard. Great teacher. I have a feeling I might be a little sore tomorrow.
