Day 52: Yoga Basics

Another good Yoga basics class. This is a great way to strengthen the poses and refine your postures.

Attaining yoga bliss in India

Welcome to Mysore-style yoga. This is the real deal, in the Indian city that gave birth to the father of the Ashtanga system of yoga, Pattabhi Jois, who continued to teach into his 90s.

This is a good article about taking yoga classes in India.

Day 51: Yoga Basics Class

Today I did yoga class with a good friend of mine. I’m not sure why, but having friends in class really brings a nice energy to it. Fun class. Good to do basics and strengthen the base of the poses.

“She is just amazing,” Handley said, adding that most people find it hard to believe that the perfectly fit woman is 94 years old.

Yoga helps you age gracefully!   This story inspires me to keep up my daily yoga practice.

Day 50: No Yoga :-(

I was so busy looking at rental properties and catching up with phone calls that I missed all the yoga classes today.   I will keep going forward and hopefully not miss another day.

Day 49: Basics Class

So good to do a basics class, no matter what level you are. Helps you check your form and make sure you are not creating any bad habits!

Hot yoga was introduced to the United States in the late 70s by Bikram Choudhury, who states in his book “Bikrams Beginning Yoga Class” that his series of scientifically developed postures will cure chronic diseases and heal medical and emotional problems.

Day 48: Deep Stretch, (like Yin)

A busy day looking for a new place to live away from the noisy neighbor.  Really need to start getting some sleep!  Missed the Power class I wanted to take but it’s OK, I made it to a Deep Stretch class. Today was 3 days in a row of the deep stretch or Yin classes, so I should really notice some improvement!

Day 47: Another Yin class

I had planned on doing the power class today, but my neighbor played her music really loud again and woke me up so I was too tired Saturday morning to do a vigorous class. Maybe doing another Yin class is better to conquer the achy feeling in my legs.

Day 46: Yin Yoga

Slow paced Yin was a welcome class this afternoon. It felt good to stretch at a slower pace. Fit my mood. My muscles feel achy after the deep stretching. I wonder if that will ever go away?
